Not only a great selection of beer, but THE BEST SAUSAGE EVER! And I am not normally a fan of sausage (get your head out of the gutter). I had the Chicago Style and it hit the spot! A fun, squeaky clean, and casual atmosphere with a great playlist. Sit indoors or out - either way you won't be separated from a good time. Perfect spot for young professionals to unwind and for old farts like me who like to be among friendly faces. 5 stars all the way! Now if I can just remember to call it Hoptinger instead of Humdinger! Ha!

Great place! Food is a great combo of traditional German and American bar food. I highly recommend mixing the beer kraut and Mac and cheese... Very tasty. Beers are awesome and plentiful... Over 60 on tap. Great variety, and if you feel lost, the bartenders are more than happy to recommend or pick something for you (I love playing the wild card). My favorites are Ryan and Marisa. You'll probably see them dancing while slinging beers and making cocktails. I love the energy they bring. Once again... Great place, highly recommended

I'm so happy to see Jax Beach getting some cool new spots. It was getting a little grungy there for a few years, so it's nice to have a place like Hoptinger make me want to come back. Don't let the early reviews of this place fool you! I have been to Hoptinger at least 5 times since they opened and have never had a bad experience. Service is prompt, food is good, and with over 60 beers on tap, how could you go wrong? It's a great place to stop by for a drink after the beach or for a night out with your friends. I definitely recommend it!

It's ok if your expectation is a little bit different but still bar food and service. Service is so-so. Atmosphere is bar not restaurant. My meal came out cold...not a little bit but cold. Took them a while to get it warm. Had to ask for silverware both times they brought food. Actually I asked the first time and just went and got the second set in my own. No Erdinger hefeweissen, ask the server to pronounce it...kind of comical entertainment. So, we explored this time, probably not again.

Good beer. And there are a couple servers who are amazing and laid back. But there are several who are aggressive to the point of making women uncomfortable. It's not uncommon to feel completely unwelcome, mostly on weekends only. Hopefully they remedy this soon, they have a lot of potential. However, I will not be returning any time soon.

Don't go thirsty, it'll take at least 10 minutes before you get acknowledged at the bar, then make sure you have beer selections 1-5 because they probably don't have the first 4. Heard a lot of hype about it but I've been twice now and both were far below subpar. Would love to have another cool place to drink craft around here but this place clearly needs to sharpen up if they want my business.

Last nights late dinner (11pm), and I couldn't have been happier. Started with a Kale & Beet Salad (I'm not a salad guy) but DAMN that was some good eating who even knew you could eat Kale??? Went right to the meat of the meal next (see what I did there? Meat of the meal...) and had the Devils Breath. Good lord, perfect amount of spice and meat with a potato roll that had me wanting dessert before I ate it and too full to order when I was done. No room left in the belly for dessert but I did see a doughnut covered with a glaze and I think bacon two people down from me. I should have done it Togo. It would have been perfect this morning. Nice work kids. Hoptinger is definitely a hit, and where do they find all the beautiful people that work there??

I came here expecting good german beer and sausage. The menu has a good german beer selection, however, the beers were flat with no head at all. Either the corbanation was off or they don't understand how to properly pour beer. The sausage was good. Overall the beer ruined my experience.

Love. We tried this place a week or so after they opened and it was absolutely packed. They don't have a wait list or many tables, it's more of a bar, but we waited and snatched two seats when we saw them come open. I had the Devil's Breath and my husband had The Southerner. Mine was fantastic, and his good too! I got the bacon Mac and cheese as my side. Pretty good. Overall, despite the busy atmosphere, there is a large beer selection and the dogs are amazing. Recommend!

Wow! Jacksonville Beach needed this classy yet casual atmosphere. Beir Garden and a quality menu! This a perfect establishment for any occasion or age. Great Job Hoptinger! I am looking forward to your new restaurant in St. Augustine! Yum!

Cool atmosphere. They did a good job of making it look like an indoor Bier Garden. Menu is pretty simply with a nice selection of brats, cheddar wursts and beef sausages, as well as hamburgers and a few other finger sandwiches. Grilled cheese with rum apples and bacon was GREAT.... Just needed more cheese and to actually be grilled rather than melted on a bun. That's the second word of the meal so give me more than one slice of cheese please! Also, the chef has a really unsanitary long beard working in the kitchen which grosses me out. Just don't sit where u can see it and it'll be fine, I hope.

I was looking forward to trying this new place, but was disappointed that after several minutes of a not so busy bar we weren't even acknowledged. Needless to say we walked out after 10 minutes of being ignored. I hope they hired bartenders and staff that recognize all of their customers.

I just tried this place for the first time and the atmosphere was great. Had the brats in blankets which were very good and didn't get to try any of the beers, but no complaints on the bloody Mary's! I don't normally take the time to do restaurant reviews, but the one thing that really stood out to me was when we first walked in I had slipped outside and cut my hand pretty bad so I asked the hostess if they had any bandaids. One of the managers (I'm assuming) Garren (sp?) immediately walked me to the back office and got out the first aid kit, took the time to clean up my hand (gauze, antiseptic, neosporin and all) and make sure I was ok. I honestly only expected someone to just hand me a bandaid, which would have been fine, but I very much appreciated the time he took out to actually help me! That definitely left me with a positive impression of the staff at this establishment, and I'm sure I will be back again to try out the rest of the menu! :)

This review is based on the food. I ordered a Kale and Beet Salad. There was only 3 slices of Beet on it. If that is advertised as a main ingredient, there should be a little bit more. It says there was goat cheese too, but mine had a few little crumbles. It tasted good, but was very disappointing. It would also be better if the kale was marinated in some dressing ahead of time to break it down a bit. Raw Kale is a little too tough.
